The 2010 Police Sport UK Track & Field and Tug of War Championships will take place in Grangemouth, Scotland on Wednesday 14 July 2010. The date of the event will be posted here soon.
This year’s event is being co-hosted by Central Scotland Police, Fife Constabulary and Strathclyde Police. Accommodation is available at the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan on the Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Tulliallan is only a short distance from the stadium and for those without transport a shuttle bus will operate to transfer competitors to and from the stadium at the start and finish of the day.
Those choosing to travel by air are advised to select Edinburgh Airport from where we can collect and return competitors. If travelling by rail to either Edinburgh or Glasgow then we suggest extending the booking to Larbert, which is serviced from the two main stations, and we can arrange to collect competitors from there for the short journey to Tulliallan.
For those requiring accommodation, en-suite rooms for two or three persons are available and will be allocated by the organisers unless the names of those willing to share from each team are given in advance. The cost for the two night’s bed and breakfast is £48 per person, however, should you require only the Wednesday night bed and breakfast the cost is £27 per person.
Given the countryside location of the College it is thought that only those with transport would venture out to eat on the Tuesday evening, therefore an evening meal can be provided at the College, the cost is £12, but this must be booked in advance. Bar facilities will be open on the Tuesday evening also.
A Championship Dinner is organised for the Wednesday evening in the form of a substantial hot buffet followed by entertainment, the cost is £28 per person and must be booked in advance. Any requests for special dietary requirements should be notified to the organisers at the time of booking.
The cost of entry per person for the championships is £13 for the first event and £3 for each additional event. The team events, Ladies 4 x 100 Relay and Gents Medley Relay are £15 per team entry. The Tug of War is £90 per team and £15 for each additional event.
We require all previous trophy winners to return the engraved and polished trophies to the organisers on their arrival at Tulliallan or at the Stadium if arriving on the Wednesday.
