Final Instructions…….
I am now pleased to confirm that we have 130 registered entries in the 2013 event representing 26 UK police forces! This will be the highest PSUK entry field recorded for many years and is very reassuring!
A start list can be found on the PSUK Athletics website. Inclusion in this list confirms that your entry and payment has been received.
Race Packs
A race information pack including your number and chip was sent to your home or work address that you have supplied over a week ago.
Those who entered after the 6 September deadline will need to collect their race number and chip from the 'Late Entries' desk which will be located in the Help Desk area within the Tented Village at Chester Racecourse on Saturday 5th October between 4.30 - 6.30pm and Sunday morning before 8.30am.
If for some reason your pack has not arrived please do not panic! Any postal entries which may not have arrived should be collected from the 'Lost/Undelivered' desk which will be located in the Help Desk area as above on Saturday 5th October between 4.30 - 6.30pm or Sunday morning before 8.30am.
If a lost/undelivered race pack has not been returned you will be issued with a new number.
Police Sport UK Race Help Point
I am not running the marathon but will be arriving at the venue Saturday afternoon. Should you have any problems whatsoever then ring me on 07974 795466 and I can rendezvous with you.
I will be parked in my AutoTrail Motorhome in the centre of the racecourse located close to the start. There won’t be many motor homes on the site so I should be easy to spot so feel free call for a chat and a cuppa on Saturday or on race morning!
Race Instructions
A pre-race program should have been enclosed with your race number. This contains all the information you will need. You can access a copy by clicking here.
Post Race Showers and Changing
Showers are available at Chester Racecourse; there are also showers available at Total Fitness Chester.
Post Race Presentation Venue and Refreshments
The PSUK presentation/refreshments will take place at between 2.30pm and 4pm at the Race Course venue. A light buffet is included in your entry and PSUK glass wear prizes will be presented. The function room is located close to the main gate on the ground floor corner of the complex overlooking the racecourse.
A list of the PSUK prizes to be contested is listed under the Start List on our website. Due to the greater numbers competing this year I have added some additional male and female veteran prizes to be contested.
Open Event Prizes
The main open event presentation also takes place on site. I understand it will be around 12 noon. PSUK entrants are eligible for individual prizes but will not qualify for any open team prizes.
Start List – Police Numbers
You will not appear in the Chester Marathon website ‘start list’ as you were not an ‘on-line entry’ however I can assure you that you are included in the main race and will appear in the open results.
Those who entered originally ‘on-line’ then transferred to a PSUK entry may have received two race numbers in error from the organisers. If this is the case please use your ‘Police’ number – should be 900 – 1020. Please disregard the original number issued.
Our 129 PSUK entrants are listed in the PSUK Athletics website. Race numbers have now been added. PSUK entrants are 900 to 1020. Click here to view PSUK Start List
In the meantime enjoy the remainder of your training and I will look forward to seeing you next week!
Best wishes,
Steve Broadbent - PSUK Marathon Coordinator
