Welcome to the Northern Police Cross Country and Trail Leagues   The league started in the late 1970's and for over 40 years has attracted runners from most of the police forces across the north of England. The league now stages 11/12 fixtures each season that starts in early October through to late March. Each fixture attracts between 40 and 80 runners. In recent years the league has gone from strength to strength, despite the pressures of securing time-off from police duties. We have recently added an 11th and 12th fixture that add a better chance to attend the six required fixtures! For 2024 we are planning another Summer 10K Trail  Series. This year we will have four fixtures starting in April through to September 2024. All information about the XC League and Trail Series, past and present is contained in this website. Here are the final scores on the doors after a tremendous season! One or two of the original prize categories awarded after the race on Wednesday have changed slightly. This is as I explained, that it is to ensure that all the 'age' categories are filed one way or another. So runners may well qualify for two prizes but will only take one. This is to allow a fair distribution of prizes overall. Without having my computer to hand soon after the race it isn't always easy to determine precise final position. In short, all those who completed FIVE fixtures qualified for a prize this year! Team Results The team results were close and it was down to the last race to decide 1st and 2nd. The difference was a matter of one point! 1st Mixed Team - Cheshire 2nd Mixed Team - Humberside 3rd Mixed Team - Lancashire Best Attendance of the Season To make up for Humberside coming team runner-up, they undoubtedly provided the best attendance at all 11 races this season: 1st Humberside - 97 Attendees - Spot Prize Awarded 2nd - Lancashire 69 Attendees 3rd - Cheshire 41 Attendees Finally.... Well done to everyone who has supported the League this season. Whether you have attended one race or most of the races, your support is always valued as it ensures the League can continue going forward. They compete in the same race but only as a 'Guest Familiy Member' and pay the cheaper entry fee but will not qualify for individual or team prizes. Contact your Force Secretary for more information   If you wish to participate in the League please contact your Force representative who will liaise with you over transport to attend each fixture or you may chose to travel direct. We now have an entry system and you may enter either up to six or all 12 fixtures at the start of the season. Just follow the Book it Zone links below. It is possible to enter your own local 'Host' fixture and not compete in the other fixtures. You will just need to pay £4 on-line or on the day.
